This is the demonstration version of ProTERM communications software for the Macintosh. It may be freely redistributed, but only in its original and unaltered form. You are authorized to use this software for no more than 15 days for the purpose of evaluating ProTERM. Continued use beyond the 15 day evaluation period is forbidden.
This demo version allows you to try most ProTERM features. However, many features are deliberately limited in functionality. For example, the demo version does not save or print, and limits editor documents to 8000 chars.
There are four different documentation files each containing information about ProTERM. You can view any of these files by choosing the corresponding name from the Additions sub-menu located in the Tools menu. While viewing one of these files, you can access the other files by clicking on the corresponding button at the top of the window. These files are grouped by subject:

INTRO: The file you are reading now is the "Intro" file. It provides general information about the ProTERM demo. You can view this file at any time by choosing ProTERM Demo Intro from the Notes menu.
HELP: The "Help" file explains how to configure and use ProTERM. You can view the help file at any time by choosing ProTERM Demo Help from the Notes menu.
INFO: The "Info" file provides a summary of ProTERM features. You can view the info file at any time by choosing ProTERM Demo Intro from the Notes menu.
ORDER: The "Order" file provides information on purchasing ProTERM. You can view this file at any time by choosing ProTERM Demo Intro from the Notes menu.

ProTERM is a powerful product and there is lots to see. While exploring the demo, here are a few features which should not be missed:

• Integrated Text Editor: The editor is an easy to use powerful text editor designed especially for the communications environment. It provides tools for converting text between many different formats. The editor can be used to compose messages and replies offline at your leisure.
• Color ANSI-BBS Emulation: If you use services supporting color ANSI, check out ProTERM's fast ANSI-BBS support. Customize colors from the Preferences command. While online, color and other attributes are saved in the terminal window for later review.
• Fast Terminal Window Scrolling: Incoming text blazes across the terminal window at impressive speed. Unlike other telecom software, ProTERM waits for your modem-- your modem doesn't wait for ProTERM.
• Multi-Session Telnet Support: Telnet users will appreciate multi-session support. This means you can connect to multiple services simultaneously. Get the most out of your Telnet access.
• Multi-Tasking Support: Just because your modem is busy performing a file transfer, doesn't mean you should be. Other ProTERM's commands such as reviewing the terminal window or editing a document can be used during file transfers.
• DIRC Macros: The macros are modeled after the C programming language and provide a high level of flexibility while maintaining a traditional programming language approach. The macros allow for extension customization of ProTERM to allow it to fit your individual needs.

InTrec Software has been publishing telecommunications software since 1990. ProTERM for the Macintosh is InTrec's first Macintosh product. It is based largely on its award-winning Apple II telecom product of the same name.
